Send your pup to day school!

We set the foundations, and provide you with video instructions on how to continue to practice the cues at home.

They move their way through the curriculum like school. They have to graduate (demonstrate proficiency as described below) from the previous module to move to the next.

Currently taking students on Fridays. Dropoff and pickup times are staggered for safety. Transportation available within limited distance, with additional charge.

Module 1:

‘Focus’ (eye contact within 3 seconds when cued)

‘Name’ (respond to their name by coming to you and giving eye contact within 5 seconds, depending on their distance)

‘Sit’ (on hand signal, and verbal cue, separately, within 3 seconds without repeating cues)

‘Down’ (on hand signal and verbal cue, separately, within 3 seconds without repeating cues)

Module 2:

‘Stay’ (in sitting, and down position, 30 second duration, distance of 10 feet, separately, until given release cue)

‘Wait’ (any position, 20 seconds, 10 feet, separately, until given release cue)

‘Loose leash walking’ (walking in front of the person, but not pulling the leash tight, 20 feet, minimal distractions)

‘Drop It’ (releases object from mouth within 5 seconds of cue, doesn’t try to grab item before person picks it up)

Module 3:

‘Stay’ with duration and distance (3 minutes duration, distance of 10 feet, until given release cue)

‘Wait at door’ (Door fully open, not moving until given release cue)

‘Loose Leash Walking’ with distractions (walking in front without pulling, 20 feet, moderate distractions)

‘Recall’ (come when cued, timing depends on distance but motion should be started within 5 seconds of cue)

Module 4:

‘Sit at a distance’ (on hand signal/verbal separately, 10 feet away, within 8 seconds)

‘Down at a distance’ (on hand signal/verbal separately, 10 feet away, within 8 seconds)

‘Heel’ (proper but not competition grade, walking at left knee, 20 feet, minimal distractions)

‘Stay with distance, duration, and distractions’ (20 feet, 5 minutes, moderate distractions)

Proficiency is listed in parentheses, must meet proficiency in all module cues prior to graduating to next one.

Modules typically take under four weeks with at-home practice between sessions. 

$100USD per 4 hour day, CT tax included. Drop-off and pick-up times will be assigned after registration.
